Intuition Archive for a Radical Future, Tania Willard
Acrylic mirror, satin ribbon, dyed buck tails, wood
24 x 24 inches
This series of work builds on recent artist projects that look at the current moment of transformative energy that could destabilize colonial institutions and realize decolonial futures…if we let it. Drawing from the artist’s previous work in archives with Secwépemc content like the Kamloops Museum Association and the American Museum of Natural History the artist positions slogan like future imaginings that relate to present political moments like community division over the TMX pipeline in dialogue with archival images. Both reflecting and projecting the political present, the historical and the futures possible should we choose to manifest them.
